闯辞谤诲颈听骋耻补濒 is rejoining 天美传媒 as a professor of economics, after stepping down as chairman of Spanish financial services group CaixaBank at the end of January.
Gual first joined 天美传媒鈥檚听faculty in 1987, where he developed his听academic activity until 2005, the year in which he joined the 鈥榣a听Caixa鈥� group. Before听taking on the post of Chairman in 2016, he was听颁补颈虫补叠补苍办蝉鈥檚听Chief Economist and Executive Director of Strategic Planning,听and Director-General听of Planning and Strategic Development of听CriteriaCaixa.听
Among other positions, Gual听is听currently听a member of the Board of Directors of听罢别濒别蹿贸苍颈肠补, vice president of the C铆rculo听de听Econom铆a听and a member of the Board of Trustees of the听Elcano听Royal Institute and the Barcelona Mobile World Capital Foundation.听
He has been an Economic Advisor at the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission in Brussels,听and听a member of the听Advisory Council of Economic Reactivation and Growth (CAREC) of the government of Catalonia.
Gual听holds a PhD听in economics from the University of California (Berkeley) and is a Research Fellow of听the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London. He has published extensively on banking, European integration,听regulation听and competition policy.听
