N煤ria Villaescusa is Senior Lecturer in the Accounting and Control Department. She started her professional career at KPMG Audit. Later, she has worked as a financial manager and as a consultant.
Her consulting work focus on the implementation of management control systems, including the specific areas of financial accounting, cost accounting, and business risk management in both large and small and medium sized companies. She has also worked as an expert witness on issues related to accounting fraud.
She received her Ph.D. in Accounting from the Universitat Polit猫cnica de Catalunya in 2016. Currently, she is Professor at UIC (International University of Catalonia). Her areas of research interest are earnings management, its consequences and how to detect them and forensic accounting.
